We are excited that our business has been requested to attend the Club 1000 open house on Wednesday July 23rd. We have done many of these events with John from Club 1000. They always have a nice evening that is very laid back and relaxed. Club 1000 is located at 10th and Broadway. The open house is from 6-8pm. Stop by the 2nd floor and say hi.

On a similiar note, we will be showing at the Kc Weddings Bridal Show this Saturday the 26th at the Overland Park Convention Center. The show is from 10am-5pm.

Kevin & Ashlye were married on June 7th, 2008. They had their ceremony here in Independence at St.Marks. My kids go to preschool here, so it was fun shooting a wedding so close to home. The native Missouri stone stone in the sanctuary, along with lots of natural light make photography look very natural.
No one was expecting the dip Kevin gave his new bride after their vows. What a moment!
After the ceremony we ran down to the River Market for a fun photo oppurtunity and a few unexpected candid shots. This little photo shoot definetly produced some magazine images. We then headed to Liberty, Missouri for the reception at Heritage Hall. It was beautifully decorated, and gave plenty of textures and details to shoot.

Adam & Kristin were married at the end of May in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. The ceremony was at the bride’s church, Abundant Life, with the reception at Legacy Park.
I have known Kristin’s mother Eunice for over 10 years. We appreciated them calling us to caputre this special day.

Melissa & Justin had both their ceremony and reception at the Ritz Charles. Our photographer John Rieger did a great job capturing this beautiful event.

Another stunning event put together by Nolte’s Bridal. Brian & Avory had their wedding nuptials a week earlier in Mexico, and came back for this happening reception on the rooftop of the Central Library downtown Kansas City. Bell’s Floral matched colorful flowers with unique details that were out of sight. The food fit the tropical theme, and the atmosphere was fun and festive. There were 2 bands that played back to back at the reception. A big thanks to Travis Loyd for tagging along and helping our photographers Nita Chyree’ and Shonna McMilian that day.

Well everyone should know by now that the Hawthorne House is one of our favorite venues to capture a wedding. Well mix in the creativity and personalization from Geoff & Jennifer and your really get a special combination. Perfect couple, perfect weather, perfect day!
I especially loved the flow of the outdoor cocktail hour, and the different seating arrangement for the reception.

It has been a busy May and June! We are working hard to get caught up after 20 weddings in 8 weeks. Nita went full time in May and is really helping out especially with our post production. We also had an open house for our new studio/gallery, and a ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce. There are so many people to thank. I hope I do not forget anyone!
We had some incredible music at our events. Larry Beekman plays classical guitar at weddings and events. Also at our ribbon cutting featured strings with Ben Parker.
We want to thank Dreu with Blue Bouquet for some incredible flowers! The blooming artichoke was amazing!!
Michelle with Iced Art made a unique cake. She is really creative and even has flavors like guava.
Thanks to Jeff Stultz for putting together this Ribbon Cutting mpeg. Cllick the picture to view the video:
A big thanks to Rosemary with Final touch studios great flowers, and an amazing centerpiece with an old lantern.
My daughter Sophie is six years old. Last night she told me, “Dad if you can, please please please bring home some Caren’s Cakes .” She knows who does it right!
Thanks to H&H Color Lab for the fantastic 40×60 canvas wrap. This was an image I took of the Jackson County Courthouse.

Here is an article on our New Gallery and ribbon cutting that H&H color lab published. Not pictured in this article was our phtographers Shonna McMilian and John Rieger. Also not pictured was our tech James Thomas who does all our website, dvds, and computer support.
Also thanks to Dan from H&H Color Lab for sending this image of President Truman getting a haircut. Not sure that is was from our building, but it is fun to imagine.

Wow what a night! The Emerson room had around 175 attending last night’s event. Irene Sparks was the MC and did a great job coordinating and facilitating the entire event.
The event was promoted by KC Weddings. Also Channel 41 News had us on the air, and promoted the event on several news casts.
You can watch the interview with myself, Mike Freeland, and Irene Sparks of Hawthorne House here.
Connie Bell with Bell’s Floral & Interiors did a variety of arrangements and centerpieces to show the styles and colors for any wedding season.
Caren with Caren’s Cakes had white, chocolate, and strawberry cake. It’s always a treat to have her serve cake.
Mike Nolte with Nolte’s Bridal had his collection of wedding dresses displayed including his own custom dress line. Mike spoke in depth regarding planning, ideas, and budgeting. He offered great insite and also autographed copies of his wedding book he co-wrote with Nell Hill’s. His shops are located north of the river in Briarcliff Village, and in Hawthorne Plaza off 119th street in Overland Park, Kansas.
David & Greg with David/Gregory Invitations did stunning work with the invitations, table menus, and name tags. Their shop is located in Fairway.
Jeff Stultz with Image Video had a nice presentation on personalization. He was very complimentary of my photography and appreciated the plugs he gave us.
We were honored to present at this show. Our work from here is seen in magazines, publications, Hawthorne House’s website, and our website. We were also in charge of the Hawthorne House Bridal event site with registration and rsvp confirmations.
Irene and her staff really put on a top notch event. For a first time bridal event it was fantastic. I can only imagine what they will plan in the future!

Derrick and Lisa had their wedding at Powell Gardens on a Thursday. This was only the 2nd Thursday wedding we have ever done. One of the bridesmaids made the Bride’s dress. It was really stunning! And I almost forgot to mention how great the flowers looked. Lisa is a florist, and did a great job on her own flowers.
Even a less than stellar performance from the Complete Music Dj couldn’t damper the ambience of the outdoor dancefloor. This was really a nice touch I had not seen before at Powell Gardens.
